RESEARCH OVERVIEW

My graduate research is focused on thermal aspects of laser-tissue interactions in biological tissues for application in ultrafast two-photon brain imaging. Besides experimental methods and classical numerical modeling techniques such as Monte Carlo and finite differences, I am interested in developing operator learning frameworks for enabling a many-fold acceleration in numerical predictions. I am also involved in various software and benchtop characterization aspects in the development of miniaturized endoscopic probes for applications in two-photon autofluorescence imaging for early detection of cervical cancer and precise microsurgeries in cases of spinal cord stenosis.

Prior to joining UT Austin, I was a project scientist at IIT Delhi, where I was involved in diverse projects in the domain of fluids and thermal sciences using computational fluid dynamics as a numerical tool. Some of the broad areas that I worked on include external aerodynamics, conjugate heat transfer, and phase-change macroscale bioheat transfer.

In addition to the zest for research as a PhD student, I have an entrepreneurial inclination in the spectrum of healthcare devices and technologies and needs driven innovation in general. I have also had a brief experience being a venture co-founder in the higher education space.
